Maxwell's Tavern to open soon

I emailed John of Maxwell's Tavern whether they'd be able to open this weekend like Dairy Barn.

We walked by the other night during our historic walk and it looked pretty nice (and nearly completed) in there.

While they are close to opening, he suspects they'll be open by Tuesday of next week.

Tried it last night, may try it again but will sit as far away from the bar as possible. The schizophrenic bartender ruined it for us. She constantly shouts "I'm Debbie by day, Delilah by night. She continued to yell the entire hour we were there. We planned to stay and have a couple of after dinner drinks but my husband couldn't get out of there fast enough. He asked me why I took him to Bubba's Biker & Big Mouth Babe bar. Take it down about 50 notches! The rest of the staff was very nice and professional. Worth giving it a try but try to avoid the egocentric side show act.

Was "Googleing" a way to write a review for Maxwell's Tavern. We just returned from having lunch there.

I'm guessing they're still working on getting things down, but we waited a little too long for our drinks, appetizer, and entrees (each time). Luckily we had our chips and salsa to hold us over. If we hadn't of been starving, I don't think they would have impressed us much.

I ordered the Shroom Burger, expecting great things! I was sadly disappointed. The burger was so greasy, it soaked the bun. The burger itself had absolutely no seasoning, and to top it all off, the mushrooms were straight out of a can. The mushrooms make the burger; it completely failed.

My husband ordered the chicken tenders, fries, and a side of collard greens (out of a can). He said the tenders weren't half bad. That's a compliment coming from a man who's tried every chicken finger in town!

I'd have to say the best part of the meal was the sweet tea and the server was nice; other than that, I don't know that we'll be going back.

Hope you guys enjoy your experience!

A place has to be open at least 90 days before you start bashing their service...the food should get better too! I'm going to check it out tonight (after I vote)...and then again after the 90 day mark to truly give an honest review...
