You can tell the season of politics are nearly upon us as the local campaigns are starting to heat up. The signs are everywhere if you just look for them. For example:
* Lisa Thornton held her campaign kickoff party this weekend. The campaign speech she apparently gave is available here for those interested. Earlier, her daughter wrote a letter in support of her to the Union County Weekly.
* Daune Gardner published the first part of what reads like a campaign commercial in the Union County Weekly. I wonder if Lisa Thornton and the as yet unheard from former Waxhaw mayor Gary Underwood.
* Pictures from the Jackson Jam follow-up concert (mentioned here) show some attendees sporting 'Daune Gardner for Mayor' stickers.
